Pets of the Week - April 6, 2012
This week’s pets of the week from The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County are Molly and Cora. If you’d like to get to know one of them a little better, Molly’s with a foster family, but Cora’s waiting to meet you at The Humane Society on Center Street. Adoption hours until 5:30 weekdays and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 4:30.
Affectionate and opinionated, seeks good listener.

Molly: 459839
Molly is a typical nose-to-the-ground beagle with lots of energy and a boisterous bark! This sweet, affectionate, five year old needs a home where she will get lots of attention and exercise, and where she has the room to vocalize to her heart’s content. Molly is currently spending some time with a foster family. If you are interested, contact information is available from the Humane Society
Sweet and petite, looking for long-term love.

Cora: 459028
Our cat of the week, Cora, is 1½ years old, but is so petite that she looks like a kitten. It’s hard to believe that this sweet little girl came into the shelter and had her own litter of kittens as soon as she arrived! Cora was a wonderful mother and all of her babies have found homes. Now it’s Cora’s turn to find her family to love her. Cora’s foster mom says she is sweet and loving and likes to play with cat toys and scratch posts. Cora doesn’t like dogs, but might get along with other cats with a slow introduction. Sound like the kitty for you? Come meet her today!

What a diplomatic description of the needs of a beagle! Having had one in the past (note emphasis on “in the past”), I’d like to offer a word of warning…don’t get one simply because they are cute. Don’t get me wrong, they are very beautiful dogs. They are also very smart dogs. Quite often, smarter than their owners. That having been said, if you have the time and space to keep their minds and bodies busy, they are a wonderful choice for a pet. I hope, as always, these animals find good homes.
