Pierce Transit Special Meeting
We just received the following:
The Pierce Transit Board of Commissioners has scheduled a special meeting for 5:30 pm, Monday, July 23, 2012 in the Rainier Room of the Training Center Building at 3720 – 96th Street S.W. Lakewood, Washington, to reconsider the appointments for the “against” committee that writes the statement and rebuttal for the voters pamphlet related to the November 2012 ballot measure that would allow the agency to utilize its remaining 0.3% taxing authority.
Individuals who wish to be appointed to the against committee are encouraged to attend the July 23rd special meeting to make a brief verbal statement about why they should be appointed.
Those unable to attend the July 23rd meeting may submit their name, address, and a brief written statement about why they should be appointed no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, July 20, 2012 to Treva Percival at tpercival@piercetransit.org or Treva Percival, Clerk of the Board, Pierce Transit, PO Box 99070, Lakewood, WA 98496.
Please note, both verbal and written submissions should only be a statement of interest to be appointed to the “against” committee.
Here’s your chance to be heard and join the public process. Interested?

Plenty of people have applied now that the public is aware of the committee’s intent to appoint an “against” committee. Hopefully they will not try to stick the new committee with Robert Hill, that would be a half measure towards due process.
