Point Defiance Flower and Garden Show Starts Today

Since it’s a beautiful June day (don’t look out the window to verify… just trust us), you should stop by the The Point Defiance Garden Show. This a three-day event with activities for the entire family. If you’re already an avid gardener, or you’re an aspiring green thumb, this is the perfect place to learn some tips from workshops and expert lectures.

If you don’t want to get your hands dirty at the event, you can browse the Arts & Crafts and Garden Wares, or enjoy a cold Pt. Defiance IPA beer from Harmon Brewery Co. and Restaurant in the Beer, Wine, and Jazz Garden.

Bring the kids over to The Children’s Pavilion where they can have fun learning about the connections between seeds, plant growth, and nature on The Little Red Hen’s Farm.

Make sure to visit Whitney, Kristen, or Sarah from the Grow Local Tacoma team. They’re probably surrounded by TAGRO, master gardeners, and many other folks interested in local eating and growing.

This year’s proceeds will go toward developing Ebenezer’s Heritage Garden in the area surrounding the Lodge at Pt. Defiance, which will restore the landscape with historically accurate plantings and appropriate native plants.
