Police and Street Closures at 9th and Pacific

For any of our downtown friends and coworkers, you may want to know that it’s a little chaotic at 9th and Pacific right now. The Bank of America at 9th and A street was robbed a little bit ago. While the robber was caught, there is a mysterious box at the scene that is being treated as a bomb. Streets are being closed. People are being kept back. Police are absolutely everywhere. A woman from Wenatchee whose car is located next to the box was told that it may be “a few hours” before she’s allowed back into the area.

Given that this is one block from Suite133, we’ll check in on the scene throughout the afternoon.

(Thanks to Brooks Seymore for the photos)

And we particularly like this photo of the robot sent to us by Sam. It was shot using an iPhone and a set of binoculars.

Don’t come down to A Street now – it’s closed between 11th – 9th . There are at least a dozen TPD around redirecting traffic and restricting access. Thank for sharing the reason why.

There is caution tape all over – now is a great time for a game of Red Rover!

    (The winners get shot.)

Damn, that can’t be good. I really hope that everyone inside the bank is OK. BTW, can anyone tell if Link is still running?

  • Danielle October 8, 2009

Yes, the link is still running… it’s outside our doorstep. :)

    Um, boom?

I assume that would be the robots taking care of business.

They’re taking pictures now, had a dog out sniffing. I’m a bit high up for pictures, but I’ll do what I can.

& just think, Derek, you were feeling uninspired about what to write about today. Clearly, the universe heard you and wanted to help you out.

I can find no coverage of this event in the TNT this morning; therefore, it must not have actually happened – just someone’s overactive imagination I suspect.

    love the improvised robot photo.

    Nice work Sam!

@David, there’s a lame little blurb in the Lights & Sirens blog section of the News Trib. Hasn’t been updated since 4 pm Thursday. Exit133’s where it’s at!
