Prairie Line Trail UWT Station: Time Lapse Video

A week ago UW Tacoma celebrated the completion of the section of the Prairie Line Trail that runs through the campus, from South 21st Street, north to the corner of South 17th and Pacific.

The University has released a time-lapse video of the construction of the trail. The video begins with some "before" shots of the overgrown, underutilized strip of old train tracks running more or less ignored through campus. It continues through the months of construction, through rainy days, and a few snowy ones, through the spring, to the finished product with newly-laid tiles and freshly planted landscaping.

It's a reminder of all the work that goes into a project on this scale - and a reminder of what an improvement the new trail is.
