Good god, can we stop talking about parking in this town? I have NEVER had to park more than 3 blocks away from where I was going in Tacoma. I suppose if you have an expectation of being able to park 5 feet away from the door of your favorite restaurant every time, parking might seem daunting. This isn’t Sumner, it’s a freaking city. The sooner people realize that, the sooner we can start having more walkable streets with fewer parking lots everywhere.

And seriously, why would you end this post with a warning about parking? I know you think it’s informative, and hey, maybe some folks will decide to carpool, but for anyone with a sane concept of what “tough parking” is (not being able to find parking within a half-mile or more of the address) this only serves to discourage people from coming out to a great neighborhood event.

I’m planning on walking, since I live about a mile away. Most folks could easily take an 11 or 16 bus right to it and not have to stress about the overabundant parking we have in this city.

We bike to the farmer’s market every Saturday (from the Wright Park neighborhood) it’s a great way to go to any event where you think parking might be tight. We’ll hit Woofstock on the way home and wont have to keep moving a car around.
