Proctor Market Events for Sept. 29th

The Proctor Farmers Market is going to be a busy place on Saturday. The fall harvest is in and local farms are ready to sell their wares. Folks from the Tacoma Community Garden Tour will have a table for information on that day’s events. The Tacoma Wheelmen will be departing on their tour of the gardens from the market at 11:00 am.

Also, the University of Puget Sound Waste Reduction Task Force, UPS students, and some local businesses are promoting reusable shopping carriers as a means to solid waste reduction. They will be at the market with free canvas shopping bags to give away and kid-friendly paint to decorate them.

Get outside this weekend and see how your Tacoma garden can grow!

went out hunting this morning. stuck it out from 5.30-7am. came home empty handed. met lots of young kids and 60-somethings that had lots of success finding glass balls… cracked ourselves up whispering “are you looking for balls?” to strangers all over tacoma in the darkest, stormiest hours of the morning!

exciting to see the diversity of “hunters” and to hear where the balls were found… finding a ball would have been tops, but it was just as fun to meet other tacomans who smiled and unzipped jackets to show us their treasures!
