Proctor Winter Farmers' Market - This Saturday

If you’ve been going through annual farmers’ market withdrawals like we are, then you’ll be glad to hear that this Saturday will be the first of three Proctor winter farmers’ markets.
Vendors will put up their booths so you can stock up on produce, meats, cheeses, fish, etc. The wine tasting booth will even be back, so you can try a little sip courtesy of Stina’s Cellars winery. Note that hours will be shorter than regular markets, so be sure to get there while they’re open.

Why is it that local outfit Tahoma Farms from Orting cannot get a spot at Proctor Market. The word is that Tahoma, affiliated with Terra Organics is not small enough. By that reasoning what is Alvarez doing at Proctor. It’s a long drive from Yakima yet Alvarez is big enough to hit many of the local markets. The vendor selection process needs to be revamped when a local farm loses out to an east of the mountains operation. Does Proctor Farmers market not value local (Pierce County) Farms?
