Public Art on the 21st Street Bridge

As I drove to the grocery store yesterday I saw a tarp on the 21st Street bridge surrounding two people as they cut at a tree trunk. I thought at the time that I should stop on my way home. It didn’t look like they were removing the trunk. But I didn’t pass by the bridge again. Today, these photos arrived in my inbox. The old maple had fallen in the storms this last winter. Now, in its place, are two faces carved in its trunk. We like guerrilla public art. Thank you.

Did The Traveller show up? I heard he was down at Freedom Fair wearing a raincoat (with nothing else) holding a “world masturbation day” sign.
