Public Meeting About Event Permit Changes

The meeting is tomorrow for all those who are interested.

Last fall we started a discussion about centralized event management in the city of Tacoma.  The plan is coming together now and it’s time to hear from you.

In an effort to more effectively development, manage, and permit community events and festivals, a proposal is under consideration to begin transition of certain special event management and permitting responsibilities from the City of Tacoma to Metro Parks Tacoma beginning June 2007.  Complete transition of all elements will occur by January 2008. 

All special events, community and festival producers are invited to attend and provide input to City and Parks staff prior to a City Council public hearing scheduled for Wednesday, April 17, 2007.

Monday, April 2nd

8:00 am – Community and Economic Development Department, City of Tacoma, 9th Floor of the Municipal Building, 747 Market

6:00 pm – Board Room of Metro Parks Tacoma, 4702 South 19th St.
