Puget Sound Revels - The Christmas Revels!

The winter solstice is coming near and that means it’s time for the Puget Sound Revels to step in and help us celebrate the season. One part theater, two parts concert, 3 parts comedy all mixed together with good old fashioned silliness, the Revels put on a show that will have you singing and laughing throughout the evening.

This year they are celebrating the music and stories of long ago as the villagers of an early European renaissance town. A visit from three fools who come from “The Mysterious East” bring a mix of historic music and stories tell the tales of the times.

This is always a fun show for the whole family to enjoy. Different every year, but always with a few common threads to make it a wonderful Christmas tradition.
A professionally produced show filled with a mostly amateur cast comprised of people from your local community.

    Come and Revel!

Everyone needs to participate in a Christmas Revels at least once – so why not make this year be the year? Besides, it might just become a seasonal tradition. Where else can you be part of a village celebration of the shortest day that artistically blends the History Channel with the Carol Burnett Show. Sing, Dance, Celebrate… Nova, Nova… and Welcome Yule with community.

Plus, this year, Mr. Boe gets to speak on stage. Out loud!

Yesterday a friend posted that she has tired of Tacoma and doesn’t feel the community. That makes me sad… Revels (this show especially) is a perfect antidote, and I’m hoping to get her to come along with me.

I’m looking forward to a beautiful evening with friends … again, this year!

Dude, Matt and David, you expect us to take the word of two cast members on whether we should go? Of course you’re going to say it’s good! ;-)

Joking aside, we’ve really enjoyed Revels in the past and it’s fun to see many Tacoma personalities up on stage singing, dancing, and otherwise carousing. Highly recommended by this non-cast member!

Jamie – everyone who attends a Christmas Revels becomes part of the village for a couple of hours – so the audience are all members of the cast (just mostly unbilled).

I’ve gone to the Revels many times. Always a great show and a great showcase of local talent. Come prepared to sing along and dance in the aisles

Good gig for a first date. Show off your shower voice and bust a move in the aisles.

This show has been a lot of fun to be a part of. The audience certainly seems to be enjoying the performances to date. Hopefully some non-cast members that had a chance to see it this past weekend will comment here.
And for those who haven’t seen this show there are still two opportunities this week on Tuesday and Wednesday night.

If you’re are still on the fence here is a little extra incentive to come out and support the local art scene.

    For “new” purchases only:
For every 2 tickets you buy, you get one ticket free for the same performance. To get this offer, call the ticket office at the Broadway Center, 253-591-5894 or 1-800-291-7593, and mention the “Buy two, get one free” offer.

Thank you Exit133, for posting this thread.

OK, MattonGrant, I am not in the cast. And I am very, very glad because it was a privilege to participate from the audience side. This show is totally beautiful, a bit creepy, and, in the end, filled with hope. It’s a little something we all need . . .
