Qannik the Beluga
Just in case you missed it …
Sad news from our own Point Defiance Zoo this Saturday evening when it was reported that Qannik, the very popular 8 year old Beluga Whale passed away from an unknown disease. Qannik had begun showing signs of illness since about March 15th, but the medical staff at the Zoo and specialists from San Diego and the Chicago were unable to determine the cause. Qannik was a star of our zoo and will be missed.

Quite sad.
The zoo should try and raise money for a bigger beluga tank — it’s cool to see the whales, but depressing to see how little space they have.

The Belugas at the Tacoma zoo have been exposed to sonar testing by the Navy in the past. I do wonder how much damage it does to these sensitive creatures.

We can hope the sonar testing is only a conspiracy. Sadly it is true. All the more surprising the TNT does not bother to report on it. Better be gentle with the military or else I guess.

Metro Parks should lease Qannik the Buluga to the Navy. Military Industrial Technicians can retrofit sophisticated electronic and mechanical appendages to Qannik the Beluga and then induct him as a drone for homeland security.
DON’T FORGET. HIRE THE VET. THEN HIRE QANNIK THE BELUGA.
