Real Art Tacoma: Bringing All-Ages Music to Tacoma

Here's something interesting to keep an eye on in South Tacoma: a group of community members has come together to open an all-ages music venue on South Tacoma Way.
A couple weeks ago a group gathered to discuss ideas for the venue.
Community members ... were invited to share ideas for the future music venue designed to provide young people a place to exist, express themselves, and find and build community. Creative-minded individuals from all facets of the community shared their ideas for the new space during the roundtable-style meeting.
The Real Art Tacoma website explains the project's goal:
Our aim is to create a space for young people to exist; to express themselves; to find and build community; to be empowered through art, music and the free exchange of ideas.
In addition to a performance space, the group plans on developing two spaces with other uses to activate the storefronts at other times of the day. One will be a consignment sneaker boutique called Thunder Dome, "exclusively catering to independent artists and brands." They also have plans for a coffee shop.
To fund their vision, the group has started a Kickstarter to raise $15,000 to get the spaces up and running. Supporter rewards include t-shirts, tickets to shows, and a "Thunder Dome surprise gift."
If you're on board with that mission, and have a little money to throw their way, you can give to the Kickstarter for another six days. At last check they were nearly two-thirds of the way to their $15,000 goal... Who wants to help them make it?
