Reimagine Public Space on Park(ing) Day 2014

Park(ing) Day is an annual event that asks you to reimagine the possibilities that lie in the boundaries of an ordinary parking spot. Downtown On the Go has been hosting our local Park(ing) Day in downtown Tacoma for several years, but it's only one of many across the country and around the world.

PARK(ing) Day is an annual worldwide event where artists, designers and citizens transform metered parking spots into temporary public parks.

Park(ing) Day this year falls on Friday, September 19. As in past years, Downtown On the Go invites you to participate by hosting your own parking space. Just contact them, and they'll be happy to reserve your space. The rest is up to you...

Past Tacoma entries have included outdoor pinball from Dorky's, a mini putt-putt course, ukelele lessons, a mini campsite, and other creative entries from local businesses, groups, and individuals. Follow links for pictures of Park(ing) Day 2012 and Park(ing) Day 2013.

It's your space for the day - what would you rather see in it than a car?
