Don’t get me wrong, I think that it’s wonderful that someone is raising money for medical aid. However, I have seen Haiti and I wonder where everyone was when the poor of Haiti were LITERALLY eating DIRT? Well, it WAS mixed with recycled animal fat in order for it to be digestible. But dirt made up nearly 1/3 of the diet for most of Haiti’s poor. Where were all the benefit concerts and wine tastings over the past 5- 10 years?
If these people had housing that was more than a few 2×4’s held together by corrugated tin and REAL food to eat then maybe, just maybe, the devastation would not have been as severe. But, who will ever know?
Choke down a few teaspoons of ASARCO fill with that glass of Chardonnay for a REAL taste of Haiti. Bottoms up.
