Rhodes Center for Sale
Anyone looking to invest in a big chunk of downtown Tacoma real estate and history? The Rhodes Center is back on the market.
Since its construction in the early years of the last century, the Rhodes Center been home to a variety of tenants: the original Rhodes Department Store, the University of Puget Sound law school, government offices, and very nearly to the Tacoma Housing Authority a few years ago. Now owned by the state, the two buildings of Class B office space and parking garage are nearly full of tenants (mostly government offices).
According to a TNT article this week, the state will be putting the whole complex on the market with an asking price of $25 million, as a part of efforts at reducing a predicted budget deficit (we can relate to that in Tacoma). So how ‘bout it? Any takers?

If only I had lived here long enough to know where the Rhodes Center is. Alas…I guess I will have to use Google. ;-)
