Right to A View
You know, generally speaking, we feel like we hear about a lot of the issues around town. This one, somehow, hasn’t come across our desk… ever. The issue is this – Some residents are concerned that their neighbors trees may eventually block their water and mountain views so they want the city to regulate tree height in ‘view sensitive areas.’ The thinking seems to be that if building height can be regulated, then tree height should be regulated too. The passion on this issue intrigues me. According to the News Tribune, one resident wrote a poem to her neighbors asking them to not to be a “view hog” and to “prune a tree, set the views free.”
I don’t know what else to say…
