RIP Ivan the Gorilla
We were sad to learn this morning that Ivan the Gorilla, resident of the B&I for 30 years, passed away on Monday. Ivan left Tacoma for the warmer climes of Atlanta in 1994. He was 50.

How appalling that this beautiful, human-like creature was kept in a cage in a shopping center for 30 years when he should have been living a normal gorilla life where he was born.

There was something kind of tragic about Ivan when he was at the B&I. May he finally rest in peace.
