Ruston Point Defiance Business District

Located at the entrance to Pt Defiance Park, this neighborhood district has the distinction of being located in the City of Tacoma and in the Town of Ruston. Radiating off of both sides of North Pearl Street, you’ll never know it straddles the boundary between the two municipalities – you will feel right at home on either side of the street.

Businesses in Ruston Pt Defiance are a little smaller, kind of friendlier and bit more old fashioned than the bigger shopping centers to the south. Stores range from antiques, used books about American History, exotic plants, to a sandwich shop that offers open mike poetry and singing, but all offer a relaxed, warm and small town experience.

But don’t let that laid back attitude fool you. Ruston Pt Defiance is the gateway for regionally important events at Pt Defiance Park, for new development at Pt Ruston and their very own annual Music Fest featuring, what else, music!

If you want nature, views to die for, a buffalo burger or an authentic old fashioned milk shake look no further than the Ruston Pt Defiance Business District.
