Saturday of Sun

Did anyone else see the weather report and think they were hallucinating? 70 degrees people! In that spirit we wanted to remind everyone of some great events this weekend to help you enjoy the weather.

  • The 75th Annual Daffodil Parade is Saturday morning. The theme this year is “Remember Your First Daffodil Parade”, so whether this is your first or twenty-third parade get out and make some memories.

  • The Parkway is hosting their 3rd Annual Parkway Barleywine Festival. They’ll be pouring 26 barleywines and cooking up three pigs… it could be fun. And they have a great patio… Saturday 2pm-2am.

  • Gray Sky Blues Music Festival, two venues loaded with blues — all ages at the Harmon and 21 and older at The Swiss — a classic Mustang car show, sponsored by The Harmon Bicycle Club, across the street from the Harmon, and a Corvette car show on Jefferson Street in front of The Swiss Pub. Seven Northwest bands will perform including The Michal Miller Band, the Randy Oxford Band and Maia Santell and House blend, and Teddy Lee Hooker from Long Beach, California. Saturday, Noon — 9pm.

Given that it is the Daffodil Parade, we find it hard to believe it will actually be sunny… but here’s hoping!

This forcast surely is a sign of the demise of the parade. It ALWAYS rains on the parade, I can’t remember it any other way. Take it how you want, but it must mean something. Thoughts?

I think I recall it being relatively nice out for the parade as recently as 2 or 3 years ago… I’m just sayin’.

The parade was awesome, Seemed like the biggest ever. I don’t ever remember seeing the Seafair princess and pirates before. If this was their first time then welcome to T-town. The plaza even had people in it. But what is up with Tacomas HS bands. The look pathetic, get those kids some school banners for cryn out loud so we can at least know who they are. One other thing, Why can’t Tacoma have a float? It was a shame to see even Wenatchee, UP, Fife, Sumner,Orting had something to offer. You would think we could have stepped up and had a City of Destiny float at least.
