Second Closet to Close at Year's End

Second Closet, the second hand store operated by the Junior League, has long been a fixture on Pacific Ave. They sell new and gently used clothing, house wares and accessories, and we’ve heard many stories about the great discoveries found there. Unfortunately it will be closing it’s doors for good on December 31st, 2009. Vinum is starting to look a little lonely on that block.

Get in there and scoop up some deals while you can …

Very sad news and not a good sign for downtown. Things are starting to get down right grim.

Wow, yeah if a nonprofit thrift store can’t make it downtown, we are in trouble. Any idea why they are closing?

Pacific Ave. remains on a decent trajectory even in this crummy national, regional, and local economy. It’s still dead, but less dead than it was a few years ago. Besides, old school thrift stores (as opposed to a place like Orange on Broadway) do not exactly form the building blocks for a vibrant downtown. Life goes on.
