September 26th is Green Tacoma Day

The fall weather may be looming nearby, but there’s still time to get outside and this weekend would be a perfect time to do it. Explore, learn, or volunteer in one of Tacoma’s many natural areas on September 26th from 9 am – noon. Come celebrate Green Tacoma Partnership’s 2nd annual Green Tacoma Day and take part in National Public Lands Day with thousands of other Americans across the country. You can choose from a wide range of activities, including park restoration events, park tours and educational events at 13 different sites throughout Tacoma, including:

  • Blueberry Park
  • First Creek
  • Julia’s Gulch
  • Meadow Park Golf Course
  • Oak Tree Park
  • Point Defiance Park
  • Puget Creek.
  • Swan Creek Park
  • Tacoma Community College’s campus nature area, Kia kaha
  • Tacoma Nature Center
  • Titlow Beach
  • University of Puget Sound’s Live Green House
  • Wapato Park
