Sidetracked
My grandmother passed away early last week just a few days shy of my grandfather’s 90th birthday. While I had originally not planned on making it to the birthday party, it now seemed very important to do so. The funeral itself will be in a few weeks, but it was important to celebrate life – particularly with a birthday celebration that my grandpa has been talking about for at least a year. Ninety. “Gosh. That’s starting to get old.” He told me when we arrived in Cambridge, Minnesota on Friday.
It was good to see family again and visit Mora, Minnesota. It was good to visit the land of snow, lakes, a few head of highland cattle, farm cats, farm dogs, hot dishes, Caribou Coffee, and the Vasaloppet. Maybe next year we’ll come back for grandpa’s 91st birthday, strap on some nordic skis, and try the Vasaloppet for ourselves.
Meanwhile, back at home, I threw a redesigned website at you then jumped on an airplane. I’m a little sidetracked and will need a few days to figure out where I was when I left. I’m going through my emails now. If you sent me a note, I’ll get back with you soon. I promise.
We’d like to thank James, one of our photo contributors, for taking care of Baci on such short notice.
