Sliders in the MoG Hot Shop

Sliders – good. Local restaurants – good. Museum of Glass – good.
Good + good + good = how can you say no?
Oh, and did we forget to mention beer from the Harmon? Seriously, that seals the deal. You’re going.
On March 3rd, the Museum of Glass will host the Shake, Rattle and Grill Slider Cook-Off. Local restaurants, including the Adriatic Grill, Asado, Bite, Chambers Bay, HG Bistro, Maxwell’s, and Social will face off in a competition on the MoG hot shop floor. Guests will enjoy slider tastings washed down with beer from the Harmon (yum!). Each restaurant has its own take on the slider – cheeseburger, pulled pork, italian sausage…
This one-of-a-kind event was inspired by a giant cheeseburger goblet (yes, you read that right). It’s one of the pieces created by John Miller for Gathering: John Miller and Friends, an exhibition featuring 25 super-sized Venetian-style goblets created by Miller with some of his colleagues.
The main event will feature chefs from each restaurant grilling up their offering on hibachis in the hot shop. A panel of celebrity judges (including John Miller, the artist whose work inspired the whole thing) will judge the results, and bestow the Best Slider Award. Attendees will get to do their own judging, and vote for the People’s Choice Award. Festivities will be rounded out with dancing to 50s rock and roll by Daryl & the Diptones.
