Snowmageddon 2012 Causes Epidemic of Quality Time

It’s happening all around Tacoma. Kids are home from school, adults are home from work, the possibility of escape is limited by driving conditions. Trapped together, Tacomans are turning to each other for entertainment. Facebook feeds are littered with references to board games, cookie baking, and movie nights. People around town are sitting down to bowls of homemade soup, and enjoying each other’s company.
What has caused this mass outbreak of Norman Rockwellian life? Four little letters that strike fear in the hearts of I-5 drivers, and when combined with “day” bring joy to the young and young at heart alike: S-N-O-W.
If you believe the local news reports, this is promising to be one of the most severe outbreaks of quality time in decades. If the epidemic follows the pattern other similar outbreaks in the past, however, it is likely to blow over in a few days, and by next week Tacomans should once again be back at their regular routine, able to escape each other by car.
Enjoy it while it lasts.

I’ve only been up with my family for 2 1/2 hours and I’ve had about as much quality time as I can handle…
For once, Tacoma has surpassed Seattle, even if only in snowfall totals.
