So Chihuly IS Selling the Jet Building
We’re amazed at how many really short stories may come out of this State AG office search meme. If you recall, the winner of the initial office space RFP from the Attorney General’s office was MJR from Kirkland. They proposed converting the Jet building at South 21st and Jefferson into new office space. The interesting thing is that MJR didn’t control the site and our favorite one eyed glass artist Dale Chihuly, the owner of the site, hardly seemed interested in the offer according to most quotes. Then, MJR withdrew its bid and the AG began the search anew.
So, today the TNT is reporting that MJR has reached a deal with Chihuly on the property and it’ll close in February. This was, to us, a bit unexpected.
Will we see Class A office space in the Brewery District? We’ll see.

I predict that the brewery district will become the next really cool area of Tacoma. When can I get my exit133 T-shirt?
