South 5: The Graphic Novel

If you’re a fan of the Grand Cinema’s 72 Hour Film Festival, you might remember a little film called South 5 that won the Audience Choice Award in 2007. Or maybe you learned about South 5 from one of the follow up films.
Well, if you enjoyed South 5: the film, now you can enjoy it as a graphic novel - and support the Grand in their digital conversion.
As a thank you to his actors filmmaker Bryan Johnson commissioned a SOTA student (Yuri Knighten) to create a graphic novel based on South 5.
She did an amazing job, and Johnson had some extra copies printed up. You can find them now the Pacific Northwest Shop in Proctor for $5, with 100% going to the Grand Cinema for their digital campaign.
It’s fun to see Tacoma depicted in various art forms, and it’s for a good cause.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of viewing South 5, it’s still available on YouTube, and well worth five minutes of your time.
