South Sound Technology Conference - Nov 29th

The South Sound Technology Conference is set for next Thursday and the topic this year is rather close to our hearts. The event has varied in size and scope over the years. Congressman Adam Smith has been a major supporter since the event’s beginning 2000. Last year focused on health care technologies.  The year before that looked at security.  So what about this year? It’s about blogging.

Tacoma has emerged as a very interesting story in the evolution of new media technologies.  Just a few years ago, there were very few blogs in Tacoma that anybody could find.  Now, blogs seem everywhere and the breadth and depth of topics is quite amazing. Most interesting to us is the connection between the online world and the real world. The conversations that start online are happening have real world effects. So, let’s explore this a bit…

I’m working on starting a blog called exit134, for people that have gone too far.

Actually, as per the emails flying around organizing the event, my session is called “Blog Tech: Connecting, Reading and Feeding”. I’m also running a break out/birds of a feather session after called “Breaking Down Barriers to Business Blogging”.

Hope to see lots of people there — should be a great event!
