Spanish Steps on the LPC Agenda Today

The Landmark Preservation commission is set to get an update on the landscaping plan for the Spanish Steps today. Now that the significant renovation work is done, and the project has been tagged already, it’s time to think about the lovely computer generated plants that will fill the space. After all, the McMenamins project should begin to transform that space any moment now.
Check out the full agenda packet for all the images and a detailed plant list.

I like trees. But it seems like they are obscuring the Elks a bit too much in the rendering.

Are we trying to plant huge trees so that the Monkey Puzzle doesn’t look so giant and stupid?

I just walked down these steps the other day and was really upset to see some graffiti on the new pretty, white paint. : (
But the landscaping looks like it will be beautiful! I’m really excited about this project.
