Will we see you there?

Naples, the 1920s. On the shores of Italy, you’ll meet a writer who is desperate for a plot for his new play. The plot comes to life in front of him, in the form of his love-struck neighbors, starting with the beautiful Fiorilla, who is married to Geronio, and Zaida, a lovely Turkish girl who was once engaged to Selim – until he tried to have her killed. Fiorilla and Selim flirt through vocal pyrotechnics, to the dismay of Geronio, Zaida, and Fiorilla’s not-quite-platonic friend, Narciso. But the writer wants a happy ending, so he rearranges the plot to incorporate multiple disguises, a fake divorce, and even a little forgiveness.

Southern Italy has never been richer than this comic tale of flirts, cheaters, and lovers, all set to the virtuoso music that only Rossini can write.
