Stand Up for Darfur

Four local women, Emily Adler, Jessica Gavre, Aurora Jewell, and Kendra Varadi, invite you to join them to take a stand against the genocide in Darfur, Sudan. The 2 day event will include activities at King’s Books and Doyle’s, and all proceeds will benefit the Save Darfur Coalition.

Stand Up For Darfur! will begin on Friday, May 30 with a community discussion featuring guest speakers and a silent auction at King’s Books. The following day the event will continue at Doyle’s Public House. Live local bands will play all day. Look for Blanco Branco, Stephanie Johnson, Matt Coughlin, Heidi Vladkya, Negative 7, John Walker and the Hitchhikers, Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden, The Joshua Cain Band and the Sea Navy…. whew! Quite a line up.

The group’s goal is to raise $10,000. There will be a suggested donation of $7, multiple raffles and a silent auction.
