Steph and Phyllis on Russell Investments
Yesterday afternoon we spent some time talking to people around Tacoma about the news that Russell Investments has chosen to leave our city. We began with barber Pete Lira. Now we join Steph Farber and Phyllis Harrison at Leroy Jewelers/Artstop. You may remember their billboard this last December aimed at the Russell employees down the hill from them.
Listen in as Steph and Phyllis talk about their business, the changing face of Russell, and bed races.

Nice to hear from Tacoma’s ONLY downtown retailer.
p.s. I think bed races would be a huge hit again. Especially if they’d allow drinking in the streets during the event.
Think Austin Texas’ 6th Street.

Love the audio, I think the idea of bedraces would be a perfect, low cost event to draw people to the downtown area. Oatman, AZ has something similar for the past 20 yrs and has a HUGE following. If they would allow drinking in the streets along with other food venders it would increase the draw

We don’t already allow drinking in the streets? Go figure.
