Stewart Heights Pooch Pool Party - Sat. Sept 12th

Proud pup owners looking for a perfect place for ‘Pal’ to play, paddle and parade, pay attention: Stewart Heights Pooch Pool Party is the perfect place for you. Pool party participants can paddle around with other dogs, plunge through the Lazy River, splash in the sprayground. The pool’s easy access zero-depth entry will please your poodle or pug’s paws and protect patrons.

“The pool party provides dog owners and their pets a unique experience after the pool closes for the season. It’s great to be able to put this park asset to a different use before it’s drained and cleaned for the winter,” remarked Jim Biles, Aquatics Supervisor.

Stewart Heights’ last day for public swimming is Monday, September 7. Later that week Metro Parks’ staff will turn off the pool chemicals to minimize irritation for the dogs and will drain and clean the pool after the event.

How ridiculous. Tacoma needs more dog parks.
