Tacoma Craft Beer Fest: This Weekend

The 5th annual Tacoma Craft Beer Festival is taking place this Saturday, and it's all grown up.

With growing attendance each year, the event has outgrown its venue for the past four years, and is moving to Cheney Stadium, where it will accomodate more beer lovers than ever. There will be food available from stadium vendors, and live music to serve as a backdrop to the tasting.

The Beer Fest will also feature more beers than ever. You'll find an extensive list of breweries and beers at tacomacraftbeerfest.com, as well as a brief tasting list of some local brewery offerings from the TNT.

This is getting to be one of the bigger beer fests in the state, and it's right here in our own back yard. Who's getting thirsty?

Really wish it was still downtown. Anybody know if there's any kind of shuttle service? Or would I have to use the neutered Pierce Transit system to get there and back in a DUI-free fashion.

You can bring along a designated driver and their admission fee is only $5.

That's not gonna work. Our usual DD will be working and the rest of my crew is going there to drink the beer. I guess it'll have to be PT or cab.

We'll split the difference, bus there, cab home. Downtown was nice for transportation, but this could work. The venue should be a great space for it.
