Tacoma Film Festival Winners Announced... And Tomorrow is the Festival's Final Night

The Tacoma Film Festival, hosted by The Grand Cinema, will draw to a close tomorrow (Thursday, October 14) night. A full slate of films will run from noon until the closing celebration and screenings at The Grand Cinema at 6:30pm. The closing night features will be two films connected to the Northwest, with the filmmakers in attendance for audience interaction.

Audiences can still cast their vote for their favorite film of the Tacoma Film Festival. Though the Audience Choice award will be announced at the closing celebration, the panel of judges announced on Sunday the category winners for this year:

Best Feature: “Earthwork” (directed by Chris Ordal)

Best Documentary: “Back to the Garden” (directed by Kevin Tomlinson)

Best Animated Film: “A Complex Villainelle” (directed by Howard Cook, Nathan Billington, Bart Ovaitt, Rebecca Forth and Ryan Porter)

Best Short Film: “Ana’s Playground” (directed by Eric D. Howell)

Best Regional Film: “Shuffle” (directed by Garrett Bennett)

Congratulations to the filmmakers selected by this year’s panel!
