LeRoy, Tacoma's Award-Winning Jeweler

We want to take the opportunity to congratulate one of our favorite downtown business owners as we head into the last week before Christmas. Steph Farber of LeRoy’s Jewelers sells jewelry of all shapes, sizes and styles in his store at 940 Broadway. LeRoy’s is full of beautiful things, and we know from experience that he’ll help you pick out a lovely gift, if you’re looking for a little guidance.
But what we really want to congratulate Steph on is a recent award from the American Gem Trade Association for Innovation in Classical Platinum Design for a pendant he designed (pictured above). The piece, described as a platinum “Waterfall” pendant features a 16.9 ct. carved quartz and three rainbow moonstones accented with diamonds. We’re sorry to say we don’t really follow the national jewelry design scene too closely, but according to Forbes,, “It is considered by many to be the most respected and prestigious creative award for the jewelry design industry.” Good work Steph.
If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably got at least a couple people left on your Christmas shopping list. Maybe you’ve moved someone over from “naughty” to “nice,” or maybe you just think better under the pressure of last minute shopping. Whatever the reason, we won’t tell, and neither will Steph. So go ahead; stop in on your way home this evening; see if anything speaks to you …

Steph is an amazing designer and a real treat to listen to. He has a story about all of his designs and likes to tell how he came up with it and made it. I wish I had a giant jewelery budget.

This award is a great honor and well deserved. There are any number of designs that Steph has created that deserve as much attention. Luckily I own a Farber Wear design. You can too!
