Volunteers needed for Tacoma’s Board of Ethics
The City of Tacoma is recruiting volunteers for the City’s Board of Ethics for oversight of the City’s Code of Ethics. The Board of Ethics will be comprised of five unpaid positions appointed by the City Council in initial terms of one, two and three years. Members will be responsible for:
- Reviewing, investigating and making recommendations for ethics complaints regarding the City Manager, Director of Public Utilities, the Public Utility Board and City-elected officials
- Conducting policy review and hearings as needed
- Submitting an annual report to the City Council
Qualified applicants must live in Tacoma, not hold any other elective public office, not be currently employed by the City of Tacoma or be an immediate family member.
Applications must be submitted to the Mayor’s Office by Nov. 27, 2006.
Volunteers needed for Foss Waterway Board
The City of Tacoma seeks three volunteer citizen members for the Foss Waterway Development Authority Board. Once the appointment is approved by the City Council, the new board members will serve three-year terms.
The Foss Waterway Development Authority Board generally meets monthly and as needed to address special issues. To qualify for appointment, applicants shall be civic or business leaders with experience relevant to the purpose of the board in such fields as finance, real estate development, law or construction management.
Applications must be submitted to the Mayor’s Office by Thursday, Nov. 30.
