Tacoma Runners + Tacoma Art Museum on Thursday

It’s been nearly two years since we last wrote about the increasingly amazing Tacoma Runners. What started as seven runners in January 2010 is now over 1500 on Facebook and the community grows every single week.

While a typical week begins and ends at one of our local drinking establishments, the Tacoma Runners are going to get some culture this week when they visit the Tacoma Art Museum. This will be a very special run. Beginning at 5:00 pm, runners are invited to arrive at the museum. Runners can donate a pair of gently used shoes for a good cause (this shouldn’t be hard – every runner we know has at least a few pairs of extra shoes “just in case” hidden away).

At 6:30-ish, as always, the Runners will leave for an easy 3 mile run. When they return to the museum, runners will be able to enjoy the Hide/Seek exhibit and beer on the atrium. The museum will close to the public at 8:00 pm and it’s runners only until 9:00.

How cool that the museum is staying open for the Tacoma Runners group. I’m curiuos about what type of beverages there will be since I don’t remember a bar in the middle of the exhibit space, perhaps the restaurant is going to be open? Well, I guess I would find out if I go for the run.
