For those that are looking for the latest results of today’s special election … It’s simple. Tacoma is voting for schools. Here are the unofficial results as of 11:14 pm on Feb 9, 2010.

Tacoma SD No. 10 – Prop. 1
Educational Programs and Operations Replacement Levy

YES: 18,663 (64.43%)
NO: 10,303 (35.57%)

Tacoma SD No. 10 – Prop. 2
School Facility Improvements and Technology Upgrades Levy

YES: 16,989 (58.64%)
NO: 11,981 (41.36%)

    Thankfully the voting electorate does not proportionally mirror angry bitter newstrib site commenters and grumpy ranting authors of letters-to-the-editor. This was great news.

    Prop 3: Doubling the size of the UWT’s student capacity. Building out infrastructure to Tacoma Ave, developing buildings as appropriate for a substancial increase in student capacity, and laying out the walkways and park spots.

    Is an initiative like that possible?
