Tacoma's Creative Voices Need You

Thirty of Tacoma-Pierce County’s creative minds met last September to take the research of Richard Florida and see where it could applied to our city.  They broke into teams and started looking for opportunities.  Now, after a lot of work, research, and planning, they need you.  Volunteers are now needed to help take the each project to the next level.  There are several groups that could use your input:

Arts Technology Ecosystem is working with various organizations to explore the creation of a multi-use Arts Incubator and television show to encourage and catalyze art careers in the South Sound.

Connected Individuality is promoting expanded diversity in the Tacoma-Pierce County workforce in an effort to attract and retain minority graduates in the area.

Team Green is exploring a “Green Alliance” in Tacoma-Pierce County to support and promote environmentally friendly businesses and companies that offer “green” products and services. The group is also exploring creation of a “Green Baseline” to offer measurements, targets, benchmarks and community stewards to promote Tacoma-Pierce County as “a place to do some green business.”

Love Tacoma is working with Metro Parks to boost local livability by hosting a series of entertainment and cultural experiences for current and prospective residents.

Project Eden is promoting and expanding the already existing ethnic dining corridor on Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Tacoma’s hilltop region.

It’s important for people from all corners of the city to become involved in the discussion.  Remember, the goal is to make Tacoma-Pierce County a better place.  Help make this project a success.
