Take an MLK Jr. Subarea Plan Community Survey
If you live, work, own a business, or are a customer at businesses in the Martin Luther King Jr neighborhood, the City wants your input on the latest phase of the Subarea Plan and Environmental Impact Statement being developed for the area. The City has been working for several months now with the Hilltop community to create a plan for future development in the neighborhood. Community members and stakeholders are being asked to help identify short- and long-term goals and objectives for the area, as well as ways of achieving them.
The surveys are available now in five categories (Adult Resident, Young Adult Resident, Employee, Customer, Business), and may be completed online, printed and mailed, or picked up at a number of businesses in the neighborhood. The number and type of questions varies from one survey to the next, with the goal of painting an accurate and complete picture of the current conditions in the area, and the needs of community members. Questions cover topics of conditions, behaviors, priorities and other information about your experience in the neighborhood. Non-English versions of the surveys can be provided upon request.
More information, and online or printable pdf surveys are available online via the project website.
The work of creating the Subarea Plan continues beyond the survey, and members of the community are also invited to attend a workshop to further define important issues.
