Tall Ships are Coming Soon

Just in case you missed the billboards, posters, or newspaper ads, here’s an official notice: Tall Ships is around the corner. That means on 4th of July weekend nearly a million people are expected to visit our lovely city. Wow.

There are several ways to get involved in making our city as friendly as possible. Julie Bennett is looking for bodies to help fold brochures to be handed out about “Shore Leave” (the onshore activities). Alan Gorsuch is turning Sanford and Sons into “Adopt a Sailor” headquarters and putting on a USO style dance for the crews of the ships, and is in need of helping hands. Or bring out your inner pirate by dressing up during the festival and handing out brochures to visitors who may have never been to Tacoma before.
