This following correspondence was generated to address the rumor that the Kalakala was purchased by Gary Coy: “We represent Sperry Ocean Dock and write on its behalf. There is apparently a rumor circulating that Sperry has purchased the Kalakala. On behalf of Sperry I can assure you there is no truth whatsoever to this rumor. … In any event, we want to make absolutely clear that this has no basis in fact. Thank you for your time.”
