The Wildlife of Fireman's Park?

We’re used to seeing feral cats in the parking lot behind Suite133. We’re not used to seeing larger critters like this one …

The deer walked past Old City Hall into Fireman’s Park. We followed from a distance as she crossed all the way through the park and headed toward the front door of Russell Investments. A couple of lunchtime joggers chased her back toward the park. She looked down the onramp of I-705, chose not to go that way, then retraced her steps back toward Old City Hall.

Not something we see every day in downtown Tacoma.

This is so cool! I hope it got back to a forest area safely.

That beautiful deer came saundering down the hill from St. Helens St., walked up Broadway for a block or so, and then disappeared from my view down toward Old City Hall. Multiple deer live in the green strip between Stadium and Shuster Parkway. I see them frequently from my condo on Broadway, especially in the spring before the trees and underbrush get their new growth. They are such gorgeous animals – a feast for the eyes.

Well, I guess no venison enchilada special at the Matador.

I’d seen one of these critters off to my right as I was using the Sprague Avenue on-ramp shortly before the on-ramp was torn down. Thought I was hallucinating—am feeling much better now….
