Instructions From the Natural World
Kim Cheselka

Opening Reception Thursday November 19th th 6-9 pm
November 19th – December 31st

“To capture a trek along the riverbank a gesture, a reflection of the wind, a rising tide. Kim Cheselka’s constructions begin with gathered willow saplings that will easily bend and peel. It is a union of human intention and material limitations no nails, no glue, no wire. The willow responds evolving into a solid sculpture, dictated by pressure and resistance It is a process of bending, shaping, drying, tightening – a rhythmic, repetitive dance.”

Check out Kim’s interview in the Weekly Volcano.
