Thoughts and Prayers II: Memorial Service Today

As you probably already know, the procession for the four fallen Lakewood police officers starts within the hour. It begins at McChord AFB, heads to the Lakewood Police Department, and will travel up South Tacoma Way to the Tacoma Dome. The memorial service begins in the Tacoma Dome at 1:00 pm. Our local community will be joined by thousands from around the country for the service. The Dome parking lots are already packed, I-5 is backed up, and roads are beginning to close.

This will be a day that we remember for a long time.

If you were considering heading to the Tacoma Dome, be aware that seating for the public is extraordinarily limited. UWT’s Philip Hall, as well as a few other venues, will be set up as an alternative viewing locations for the service.
