Tonight: Link Alternatives Drop-In Session

TONIGHT: Drop-in session: An informal opportunity to learn about the project process, see alternatives, and provide feedback. Tonight, January 8, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., at the Portland Community Center, 3513 East Portland Avenue in Tacoma.

Please join us on Tuesday, Jan. 8, to learn about Tacoma Link Expansion. The drop-in session will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Portland Community Center, 3513 East Portland Avenue in Tacoma. This sixth Tacoma Link Expansion drop-in session held over the past month around the City of Tacoma offers an informal opportunity to hear updates on the alternatives analysis process, review corridor options, and provide feedback.

The Tacoma Link expansion project was approved by voters in 2008 as part of the Sound Transit 2 ballot measure. The purpose of the expansion is to improve mobility and access to the regional transit system by connecting the existing Tacoma Link system with the city’s major employment, residential and activity centers.

The ST2 project includes funding for a partnership to expand Tacoma Link. Sound Transit is seeking federal monies and exploring options for securing additional funding partners for the expansion. The alternatives analysis underway supports efforts to narrow and define project options, develop cost estimates for potential corridors, and work with partners to develop a funding plan.
