Tour of Old Houses: Tacoma's Classic Craftsman

Saturday, September 15, Historic Tacoma will lead its first Old Houses Tour, starting with seven classic Craftsman homes.

Each home showcases unique Craftsman design features from stained and leaded glass to stone fireplaces and rich wood paneling. Learn about each individual house, and design choices made by current owners trying to recapture Craftsman charm.

Representatives from Rejuvenation (lighting and hardware), Ixia Tile (Arts and Crafts themed tile), and Stories Inc., (reproduction textiles) will be on hand to discuss period appropriate details.  Lawrence Kreisman will have copies of his newly published book, The Arts and Crafts Movement in the Pacific Northwest,  available as well.

Tickets are limited! The cost is $15/person and can be purchased at either Dave’s Meat & Produce or King’s Books.

p.s.  If you would like to help out, I do believe there are still spots available for docents on the tour.  Learn something about our amazing homes and meet new people.  It’ll be a great opportunity to become involved with a young and growing organization.

… or just some guys who wanted to thank the Grand for giving regular Tacomans the opportunity to join the arts scene (not everyone owns a gallery, Peter).

Not quite sure what the gallery has to do with it…

Maybe I should clarify that I work at The Grand as well.
