Tracy Lang Woodcuts at Kitteredge Gallery
As the pull of digital culture drags us further out of the physical world, it falls on art to remind us of the power of traditional media. And what technique more exemplifies the glory of the analog than woodcutting?
In that spirit, the Kittredge Gallery at the University of Puget Sound is exhibiting a collection of large woodcuts by Northwest native Tracy Lang. Lang, currently a guest instructor at the University, has worked throughout the Seattle art scene as a gallery-owner, artist, advisor, and instructor. Her show at UPS, called Juxtaposition features intricate woodcut prints that stretch from ceiling to floor, depicting scenes of nature and humanity. Her work will be on display until Nov. 29, and admission is free.
