TV Worth Watching: The Wonderland Project

I’m sure we’ve all dreamt of doing the Wonderland Trail – the 94 mile long hiking trail around Mt. Rainier.  Okay, maybe not all of us.  But I’ve thought about it and I’ve had a few conversations with folks about what a reasonable amount of time would be to do the trail. I’ve heard eleven or twelve days.  I’ve heard nine days.  That’s a lot of time spent hanging out with marmots and Cliff Bars.  There’s a guy in the office that is rumored to have done it in three days.

KCTS will air a documentary tonight called the Wonderland Project about two friends setting out to attempt the Wonderland Trail in less than 24 hours.  When I first heard about it my mind instantly starting cataloging all the little details needed to pull something like this off.  Training miles?  Check.  Water and food support?  Check.  An emergency plan?  Check.  Then I realized that the entire project is crazy.  Why am I thinking about it?  It’s fascinating.  I like projects.
